WAH December lai liao!

What? It's the end of the year already?!

Goodness that makes me feel slack.

It feels like work has taken great strides since then.
  • I am a confirmed member of the workforce (Yay!) I have a chunk of stuff on my desk and am not twiddling my fingers anymore!
  • My colleagues are like family, and I appreciate that it's rare so i'm not bothered that i earn less than my commerce counterparts. (that, and I get to travel and have flexible hours and my boss tends to give us days off without eating into our leave! oh, and he takes us for makan and drinks too)
  • We may be involved in quite a few events next year (Rihanna concert in January!) and that probably means free tickets! (for me la)
  • Plus i really do love what i do. Except the ocassional writing and reading in Malay. Icky.

The world hasn't been much nicer though

  • Mumbai had a horrible terrorist attack which left nearly 200 people dead
  • The economy is still in turmoil and job cuts are rife
  • Pakistan was struck by earthquakes and their infrastructure is terribly unprepared for it
  • There have been a number of horrible accidents involving landslides, building collapses and vehicle collisions and they've all taken away many people

Then again, that's just the news from every month of the year, isn't it?

If nothing else, we can at least be grateful to be alive!

Arts-wise, I've been fortunate enough to catch

  • The Glen Miller Orchestra - swing music as it was in the 50's
  • Atomic Jaya - funniest local play i've ever watched!
  • Avenue Q - who knew the muppets could be so horny? [Everyone should take a cue: In volatile markets, only stable investment is PORN!]
  • Sting - and he sings medieval music! with a lute! So very much like being entertained at court in a castle. Oh haw haw pish posh.

On the house front, as I said in May (and June, and July, and August...), we're moving NEXT MONTH!

On the EPL front, LIVERPOOL IS ON THE TOP!!! Ynwa ;)

But enough of recap, contrary to my regular custom of harping on and on about 1 point, i shall leave a number of thought-stimulating (or at least Haih, Jeannie, Jeannie head-shake inducing) ponderings:

  • Isn't it funny that the only reason antiques are worth collecting is because of antique-collectors?
  • How come blobs of paint on paper is mess when it's done by happy children but art when it's done by manic-depressive adults?
  • Why does a social life, as with work, come in lulls and peaks? Can't they spread themselves out?
  • Why does time pass slower when you are waiting for something?
  • Why does a noisy room suddenly go quiet when you are saying something not kosher like 'penis' or 'boobies' or 'don't you ever feel like pushing chubby round kids down a hill?'
  • Why are the movies you want to watch always 'Coming Soon' and none of them actually in the cinema when you are?
  • Why is it uncool to wear your old clothes that you already own but So Retro to wear other people's old clothes that you have to pay for?

Anyway, i doubt anyone's reached this far. Partly this post is to avoid being accussed of blogging death.

I am actually really excited for Christmas!!

Randomly,

*sigh* Love is so drama, right?
